| Have you inherited an old quilt top from a distant relative or loved one? It is an honor to finish cherished quilt tops that have been left to loved ones. I have competed several quilts that where made as far back as the 1920s. These quilts are often made from feed sacks and clothing of past relatives. They are found in cedar chest, boxes of fabric, and mixed in with clothing of long gone relatives. Sometimes you will find them stained from the wood that they are stored in, but this gives them character. Most of these tops are hand stitched or pieced together buy treadle sewing machines. |
